An incomplete copper alloy Roman Trumpet brooch. The wide head is undecorated and has a projection at the top. The strongly curving bow tapers at the lower bow and the foot is missing. At the centre of the bow there is a transverse incised line, followed by a globular button which is undecorated and below this there is a further incised transverse line. Behind the head there is a central pierced lug which holds the spring of six turns and the external chord. A tab extends from the lower edge of the head on the reverse and passes over the spring. The pin, catchplate and foot are missing.
