A knapped, struck flint flake probably dating from the Late Neolithic to the Early Bronze Age periods, circa 3500BC - 1500BC. This is a tertiary flake as no cortex survives. In plan, the flake is sub oval with one straight edge. The section is roughly lentoid. The flint is fine grained, with a an uneven light brown / light blue-grey patina. The surfaces of the flint are shiny. The ventral surface is smooth with a bulb of percussion and concoidal ripples clearly visible. The dorsal face has 1 central ridge. The distal end terminates in a feathered fracture.
The flake measures 24.25mm in length. The width is 20.07mm. Thickness is 5.84mm. Weight: 2.39g.
