Incomplete Late Saxon harness fitting: just over half of a bridle cheek-piece comprising a high hollow-backed central boss between flanking knops, the surviving D-sectioned arm ending in a knopped lozengiform terminal with oval perforation which is splayed on the reverse. Surviving length 50mm. Width 29mm. Thickness at boss 14mm. Maximum thickness of arms 6mm. Weighs 28.84g. 11th century.
