An incomplete copper alloy Medieval (AD 1250-1400) mount. It is formed from a thin plate measuring 0.90mm thick. It is broadly circular in plan with two sub-circular projections at one end, one of which is incomplete. There is also a broken projection at the other end which may have been a similar shape. The complete projection has an incomplete iron rivet through it. The centre of the main disc is slightly domed (concave on the reverse and convex on the front). There are traces of gilding on the front. Overall the mount measures 35.60mm long, 24.05mm wide and 4.60mm thick. It weighs 3.20g.
