A rim sherd of a ceramic vessel of probable Roman date, AD 43 - 410. The fabric is fairly hard, irregular and is mid grey in colour. It has frequent angular white and light grey inclusions (quartz?) and some mica; it is probably a local greyware. The diameter at the rim would have been about 150mm. The rim is everted flange-like. The wall has a thickness of 7.5mm.
