A medieval ceramic vessel fragment, a handle sherd from a jug. The fabric is fairly hard and is light grey except for the external surfaces which are light red. The irregular fabric contains various poorly sorted inclusions, probably mainly stone and grit. The outer face is glazed with a brown glaze and is also decorated with three longitudinal grooves, giving the handle a fluted appearence. The handle is sub-oval in section.
