Medieval copper alloy belt mount. Probably in the form of a stylised acorn consisting of a D-shaped terminal with deeply filed cross-hatched grooves and a short stem. The reverse is concave, with a single separate rivet and circular rove. Mounts such as this were used to decoratively rivet separate metal loops (missing) to a strap, which were in turn used to support pendant loops, cf. HAMP-073211 and NMS-35E883. Length 13.6mm. Width 10mm. 13th-15th century.
