An incomplete copper-alloy Late Iron Age to early Roman Langton Down bow brooch. It is missing the terminals of the wings, the majority of the spring, the bow, foot, catch plate and pin due to old breaks, now worn
The wings are folded over to be cylindrical in form and undecorated. In the centre there is a rectangular notch which would have held the now missing pin. Within the fold of the wings is the remains of a spring. The bow is rectangular and narrows towards the foot. It is triangular in section with a flat front face.
This brooch measures 18.35mm in length, 17.80mm in width at the wings, 10.78mm in width at the bow, 3.12mm in thickness, 3.07g in weight.
