A complete copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The buckle is single looped with an integral plate. The frame is oval with a notched lip and the integral plate is rectangular. Two rivet holes are present in the plate, one of which retains the rivet itself.
The metal has a mid greenish-brown patina and is worn. The object is 33.5mm long, 14.3mm wide, 5.3mm thick and weighs 3.1g.
Similar examples are illustrated in Whitehead, p.33 and are dated to circa AD 1250 - 1400.
