A very worn and clipped Post Medieval copper-alloy Spanish maravedis piece, probably dating from the 16th-17th centuries AD. The obverse depicts a castle with three turrets, within a square-topped shield and possibly surmounted by a crown. The reverse depicts a lion en rampant within a square-topped shield, also possibly surmounted by a crown. Cf. PAS database record: SF-969614.
