A copper-alloy Venus penny jeton struck in the low countries, holding a flower spray, circa 1490-1550 (Similar to Mitchiner 1988, p. 272, no. 845, 846).
Obverse: (Crown)ROUVE:[]VIOUVE[]OU:RO[]VNO (fictitious legend). Mirror image of Austro-Burgundian shield in five parts, surmounted by Burgundian emblems.
Reverse: AVED[]EVEV[]:AVE[] (fictitious legend). Standing woman facing long flowing hair, wearing drape, lowered left hand holds a pot from which she waters flowers, she holds a spray of flowers in raised right hand.
