A complete cast copper alloy strap end dating to the medieval period, that isthe 14th century. It has nearly parallel sides, but an elongated triangular shape and a complete zoomorphic terminal. The object has a smooth dark brown patina and is in extremely good condition. There is only a small break at the socket end. The socket end has a rectangular cross-section with two carved grooves around the socket itself. There are two small rivets with circular heads still embedded in the hollow part of the strap end. The lower part which ends in the animal-head terminal appears to be solid cast. The animal head is complete. It appeared chip-carved with very angular ears, eyes and snout. It probably was meant to be a wolf.

An example is known from Church Close, Hartlepool, there found in a late 14th- to late 15th-century context (Jackson in Daniels 1991, 371-371; fig. 23, no. 22).
