An incomplete cast copper alloy door or window latch in the form of a long-beaked bird's head. The head is decorated with an incised oval eye, and line down the centre of the beak. There is a moulded collar on the upper neck. The reverse of the object is plain and undecorated. The latch is probably of post medieval to modern date and has a dark green patina with dark purple patches. The object is similar to HAMP-477952 and KENT-ACF377 and a published example by Bailey (2001: 63).
