A gilded and enamelled copper alloy Medieval (c.1200-1400) circular annular brooch with a narrowed frame for restricting the pin. It measures 22.45mm in diameter and 3.70mm in thickness. It weighs 1.38g. The brooch is decorated symmetrically with an alternating pattern of a single raised oval containing red enamel followed by a pair of longitudinally arranged small raised circles. The ovals and the outer circles of the pairs project out from the edges of the frame. The space between the ovals and circles is now a light brown colour on which there are traces of gilding. The reverse is undecorated, flat and ungilded with a green patina.
