An incomplete copper alloy Post Medieval (c.1570-1700) double loop trapezoidal buckle, missing one of the loops, the pin and the buckle plate. The strap bar has been bent out of shape. Overall it measures 16.55mm long, 20.70mm wide and 2.90mm thick. It weighs 1.35g. Only one loop survives, the frame of the other having broken off at the strap bar. The loop is trapezoidal in plan and triangular in section. The strap bar has a lobed protusion at either end and is slightly raised above the rest of the frame. Internally the loop measures 12.20mm long and 15.15mm wide. cf Whitehead (1996) Buckles: 1250-1800, 82, no.506.
