Fragment of a medieval to post-medieval sheet copper alloy vessel. An incomplete apparently triangular sheet escutcheon, which tapers from a break to a carefully rolled-up point, is secured to the vessel with two large domed-headed rivets and a sheet backplate. The whole object curves gently in two planes. Extant dimensions 37 x 22mm. The escutcheon's length and width exceed 35 and 15mm. The rivet heads are 6mm high and 9mm in diameter. Perhaps 14th - 17th century.
