An incomplete copper-alloy Roman hinge-headed brooch, only the triangular bow and a fragment of the catch plate now survives.
It is flat and the front face is decorated with a raised triangular border with ribbed decoration. Within the triangle are recessed cells of opposing triangles which were originally filled with enamel. Most of the enamel does not survive, that which does is decayed and pale green in colour. At the base of the triangular bow is a projecting rectangular foot. This has a rounded front face decorated with transverse collars. On the back of the foot is the remains of the catch plate. The back face is undecorated.
This brooch measures 26.56mm in length, 19.44mm in width, 2.57mm in thickness, 3.24g in weight.
This brooch is similar to one published in Germany by Riha (Riha, 1979, table 48, no. 1414).
