A medieval cast copper alloy non-symmetrical double oval buckle, with central bar narrowed for sheet metal pin with transverse bar. The bar for buckle plate is missing. The surface is corroded with specks of gilding. The central bar is decorated with closely spaced square cells around and between which traces of red enamel survive. The outside edge has scrolling foliate decoration surrounded by traces of blue enamel. There are two larger areas of yellow/green/white enamel towards the centre of the frame. The buckle is 43.5 mm in length, 30.96 wide and weighs 13.91 grams. Almost identical to NMS-809D31, and an early 13th century Limoges example (Boehm and Taburet-Delahaye 1996, 287,no. 91).
