A large fragment of a (undatable) pale gold bar. The object is a fragment from a rectangular shaped bar ingot made of gold. The fragment comes from the roughly pointed end of the ingot which was originally 9.5mm wide and 3mm thick. The fragment weights 5.15grams. The British Museum was unable to ascertain a date for the ingot.

This artefact was reported under the Treasure Act. However due to the lack of a clear archaeological context, it was difficult to date the ingot and to say with any certainty when the ingot was made or lost. The artefact was disclaimed without inquest.
