Cast copper alloy small double-loop spectacle buckle frame, missing its pin. The pin bar is narrowed and flush with the frame and is 14 mm in length, 2.5 mm in width and 3 mm in thickness. The frame has a flat base and a convex profile in cross-section with an internally bevelled edge and a sloping outer edge. The frame is 28.3 mm in length, 22 mm in width and 3 mm in thickness. The original surface still remains as darker green patches alternating with the lighter green corroded areas.

Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar example on page 53, No.294, which is dated from the 15th to the 16th century.

Read (1988) illustrates a similar example on page 110, No.668, which is dated from c.1485-1600.
