A complete undecorated copper alloy finger ring of probable Roman date. The finger ring is plain. It has a smooth hoop without a bezel, decorated only with a plain band at each edge flanking the convex centre of the hoop. The patina on the outside is turquoise and pitted in places showing reddish metal beneath. In side the hoop, the patina is less damaged and is a well developed olive green. The internal diameter is 21.1mm.
Plain finger rings of this style can be hard to date accurately but are usually assigned to either the Roman or Post Medieval periods. Compare WMID-4C0667 and YORYM-09F2B6. This example is possibly Roman because of the well developed patina.
