Fragment of medieval copper alloy purse frame, round-sectioned bar, both ends broken, decoration consists of two encircling grooves near the missing narrowed projection for the terminal rove, and engraved pairs of oblique cross-hatched lines, filled with niello. Remains of flange broken across twin perforations. Surviving length 40mm. Diameter 6mm. Ward Perkins 1940, Type A. c.1450 - c.1500.
