A complete copper alloy seal matrix of medieval date. The die of the matrix is circular with a rectangular sectioned handle extending from the reverse which tapers to looped terminal with circumferential collar. The die itself bears the central image of a bi-pedal creature with long neck a human head turned back over its shoulder. A circumferential legend is present which is largely illegible though what can be determined reads "S' [-----]LNAG[----]M[----].
The metal has a dark blackish-green patina and is worn. The seal matrix is 18.2mm tall; the die is 19.1mm in diameter and the handle is 6.2mm wide and 2.2mm thick. The object weighs 8.2g.
