A complete lead alloy weight of uncertain date. The weight is sub triangular in profile with two recessed sides. It has a circular base that tapers to a rounded apex. The apex has a small impression which could be a perforation but it is difficult to determine as there is compacted, organic material from deposition within the impression. There is no decoration present but the surface of the weight is marked with pits and scars and has a large indentation on the base.
The object is whitish-grey brown in colour. The weight is 41.71mm tall, 28.79mm wide, 9.11mm thick and weighs 154g.
Lead weights were commonly used from the Roman period through to the post-medieval period for a wide variety of uses and are difficult to date with any certainty without any supporting archaeological context.
