A gold Medieval finger ring. The hoop is plain, sub-triangular in section and measures 20.95mm in diameter, 1.85mm in width and 1.35mm in thickness. The bezel is hexagonal in plan, in profile and in section, measuring 13.05mm long, 15.60mm wide and 6.30mm thick. It contains a gem of indeterminable colour contining elements of dark blue, red, purple and black, which is set in a hexagonal aperture. Overall the ring has an external diameter of 26.65 and weighs 4.77g.

Most comparable finger rings date to the Medieval period, e.g. ESS-49D8F6, SUSS-8219A6.

Consequently, in terms of age and precious metal content, the object qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
