Lead spindle whorl. Cast bun shaped whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter 9.6mm, probably Walton Rogers form A2. Patinated overall. The mass would make this object suitable for spinning a yarn, while the aperture size may suggest an Anglo-Scandinavian rather than an earlier date. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 850-1000.
