An incomplete copper alloy early medieval brooch dating to the period c. AD 410 - 1066. The brooch is broadly circular in plan. The obverse features traces of gilding and a design of a central raised pellet from which radiate a series of alternating circular grooves and ridges of vairable width. The outermost groove shows traces of a punched dot design in what remains of the gilding. Traces of a cross-hatched design are visible in the second groove in. The reverse features the remains of the lug and the catchplate, the pin is missing.
The brooch measures 23.81mm in diameter, 7.26mm in thickness (including lug) and weighs 9.11g.
