A lead standing/pyramidal weight of Medieval to Post Medieval date (1200-1600).
The weight has a flat quadrilateral base. The sides of the weight have been facetted, forming four distinct sides. The sides gradually taper towards the top. A complete circular suspension loop is present at the top of the weight, with an internal diameter of 2.95mm.
It measures 36.00mm in height. The base measures 15.10mm x 11.30mm while the top measures 11.10mm x 3.50mm. It weighs 38.16g.
Several similar pyramidal /suspension weights have been recorded on the PAS database including
WMID-BFB565, LEIC-7EFD23, LEIC-D9C2D0, YORYM-F52F85, WILT-ECEC12, SF-0B04D3 and SF-D59B31. All are considered to be Medieval in date (1200 to 1600).
