A post medieval to modern copper-alloy anthropomorphic pipe tamper. The main body is cast in the form of a male figure standing with one leg bent and arms akimbo, wearing trousers, jacket, neckerchief and hat, possibly representing a farm labourer. The figure is standing on a circular plinth (12.27mm high) which curves in to a 'waist' and out to form the base of the object. The base is slightly convex and circular, to facilitate pressing tobacco into a pipe. Cf DEV--CDEB13.
