A cast copper alloy mount dating to the Medieval period, circa AD1450-1550. Two protruding knops from the base of the mount with broken terminals indicate that the mount is incomplete. The mount is sub triangular in plan with an irregular section. The mount has openwork decoration comprising of two sub-triangular perforations. The front face of the mount has moulded decoration including a row of raised square forms along the longest side of the frame and a raised floral design in the centre of the mount. The reverse of the mount is plain and flat apart from the chamfered edges of both perforations. The mount is worn with a light grey / green patina. Length is 23.28mm. Width is 14.56mm. Thickness is 1.61mm. Weight is 0.9g.
