Fragment of Late Saxon lead model for a strap-end, tongue-shaped with a transverse break at the upper edge which is recessed on the reverse, the surviving stump above a transverse band, symmetrical decoration in low relief comprises a central calix flanked by bifurcated foliate tendrils and the remains of two possibly addorsed bodies of birds (heads missing) at a transverse break where the lower end is missing. The reverse is undecorated. Surviving length 23mm. Width 23mm. 3mm thick. Weighs 9.19g. 9th-10th century.
