A large copper alloy finger ring dating to the medieval period. The finger ring is now oval in plan and has a break in the hoop. The bezel is a moulded decorative feature but what it depicts is hard to see; there is an inscription around the outer hoop but again this is hard to read because of wear. Some of the lettering appears to (...)EA(...)RVS R and it may be an inscription related to Christ as Jesus of Nazareth, however this is just speculation. Suggested date: 14th or 15th century AD.
