An incomplete copper alloy decorated finger ring, of probable Post Medieval dating (AD 1500 to AD 1800).
The hoop is incomplete. The finger ring consists of a D shaped hoop, with moulded cast decoration. The decoration is unclear but consists of a repeating design of floral decoration. The floral design is made from a central pellet with eight (8) lines radiating outwards, imitating petals. The design appears to repeat 8 times. The internal surface is plain and undecorated.
The finger ring has an external diameter of 24.2 mm and an internal diameter of 19.9 mm. The hoop is 5.9 mm wide and 2.1 mm thick. It weighs 4.5 g.
The finger ring is a mid dark brown to green colour, with an uneven surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in a loss of some of the original surface detail.
