Post-medieval copper alloy mount in the form of an acorn, slightl convex on the front and concave on the reverse with the broken stubs of two circular-sectioned integral attachment spikes. Broken across the stem of the acorn. A tiny trace of gilding survives on the front face. Measuring 43 x 36mm. Circa 17th century.
