Medieval copper alloy brooch made from an English jetton. An iron strip has been riveted with an iron rivet to the centre of the obverse. One end is missing, the other is rolled over into a loop, very corroded. The obverse with attached iron strip is mostly obscured by corrosion with only part of the pelleted border visible. The reverse bears a short cross moline within a border of pellets, the centre obscured by the corroded iron rivet. Diameter 21mm. 1mm thick. Jettons with a short cross moline on the reverse have been dated to c.1310 - c.1335 (Mitchiner 1988, 110-17) and it is unlikely that conversion to a brooch occurred very much later.
