An incomplete, cast copper-alloy Roman brooch of T-shaped type, dating to c. first to second centuries AD. The remains of the brooch consist of most of the upper half, including a cylindrical crossbar with possible iron axial pin still intact; the pin itself has broken off. A portion of the head loop remains, which is the rectangular shaped base to the circular loop. The upper half of the body remains, having broken off at some moulded decoration approximately halfway down the tapering brooch body. The remaining upper portion is sub-rectangular in plan and was originally flat with little curvature to the brooch in profile. The brooch is now bent in multiple places, probably from in situ damage. The outer face of the brooch body has two recessed sub-rectangular cells running the vertical length of the body, terminating in unclear raised moulded decoration. The pin, head loop, catchplate and lower half of the brooch body are missing due to old breaks. Only vague traces of enamelling are visible in the recessed cells; no further decoration survives. The reverse is undecorated and the brooch is of a medium green colour with some areas of darker patina on the reverse. It measures 29.14 mm long, 19.03 mm wide, 2.11 mm thick and weighs 4.1 grams.
