An incomplete cast copper-alloy umbonate brooch of Roman date. It is circular, domed and would have had four lugs around the perimeter, two of which survive. A hinged lug is located behind one of these and the remains of the catchplate behind the other. The rest of the brooch is missing due to old breaks. There is a deep channel around the perimeter which is incomplete due to old breaks. The domed surface is decorated with a central circular cell surrounded by two rows of triangular cells, the inner comprising fourteen and the outer sixteen cells. These would have been filled with enamel, most of which is now missing but that which remains suggests that the design alternated blue and red enamels.
