A base, body and rim fragment of a Medieval green glazed tripod pot. The pot has a regular form and has rilling on the inside surface suggesting it was wheel-thrown. The vessel has a slightly curved and squat shape with three small feet projecting from where the body attaches to the base (21.92mm in width and 10.15mm in height). The legs are hand moulded. The base has a diameter of 80.49mm, too little of the rim remained to measure an exact diameter but it is approximately 110mm. The rim is straight, rounded and has been thickened on the outside by turning over the top of part of the wall. A green glaze with a crazed and slightly mottled appearance remains on the inside surface on the vessel. No glaze remains in the outside of the vessel but it is probable that the entire vessel was glazed. The fabric is light to dark cream buff in colour. It is soapy in texture, there is evidence of organic inclusions, poorly sorted stone inclusions and mica. Judging by the vessel form, fabric and green glaze the vessel dates to the Medieval period between the late 13th to the mid 16th centuries AD. It is possibly an example of "Tudor Green" ware which dates to AD 1425 to 1550.
