Lead spindle whorl. Cast biconical whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter 9.4mm. Both sides are decorated with a curvilinear vegetal motif in which pellets take the place of fruits, with a rim separating the two sides. This is less usual than the more angular combination of lines or triangles and pellets. The mass suggests the whorl would be used to ply cord. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1600.
