A copper alloy single loop sub-rectangular buckle dating to the early post-medieval period. The buckle has concaved sides with bifold moulding on each outer edge. The curved frame end is also simply moulded with three grooves that may have acted as a pin rest as well as being decorative. An iron pin is looped over the integral strap bar. This may be a replacement. This style of buckle dates from c. AD 1500-1650.
