An assemblage of 59 flint implements of later Prehistoric date. They have a combined total weight of 1486.91g and probably date to between c.7000-1 BC.
1) A patinated, irregular moderately small flake core. Multiple platformed. Shows later unpatinated crude flake removal/retouch. Probably Mesolithic/Neolithic with later re-use. It measures 52.04mm in length, 40.39mm in width, 19.72mm in thickness, 45.03g in weight.
2) 3 irregular multiple platformed flake cores. 10% of cortex remaining. Probably Middle Bronze Age - Iron Age in date. They have a combined total weight of 165.90g.
3) A squat, thick irregular flake with limited, crude edge retouch. Probably Middle Bronze Age - Iron Age in date. It measures 61.02mm in length, 39.50mm in width, 20.92mm in thickness, 44.42g in weight.
4) A fragment of blade core with close parallel blade scars. Probably Mesolithic or Neolithic date. It measures 54.23mm in length, 23.87mm in width, 12.51mm in thickness, 16.21g in weight.
5) 7 flake cores, all irregular, mostly producing squat or short flakes. Some with little flake removal. 5 of 7 have 40% plus cortex remaining. The simplicity/crudeness suggests a Middle Bronze Age-Iron Age date. They have a combined total weight of 369.88g.
6) 8 natural flakes with crude, limited edge retouch. 2 possibly crude scrapers. Probably Middle Bronze Age-Iron Age in date. They have a combined total weight of 355.60g.
7) 13 flakes, 11 squat, 1 with a hinge fracture, irregular, mainly thick, mostly small. Probably Middle Bronze Age-Iron Age in date. They have a combined total weight of 122.72g.
8) 21 retouched flakes with limited and crude retouch/use wear. 12 squat, 1 with a hinge fracture. 1 with incipient cone of percussion. Striking angles vary. Probably Middle Bronze Age-Iron Age in date. They have a combined total weight of 309.55g.
9) 2 oval scrapers on squat flakes, relatively simple. Probably Middle Bronze Age - Iron Age in date. They have a combined total weight of 50.05g.
10) 2 small flakes with retouched notches. Later Prehistoric in date. They have a combined total weight of 7.55g.
The assemblage appears to be consist of Middle Bronze Age - Iron Age in date. However, there is a clear presence of earlier flint, which may have been picked up and reused.
