A clipped and partially worn post-Medieval silver sixpence of Charles I (1625-1649). Group E (Aberystwyth). Initial mark: anchor, 1628-1629 (North 1991: 161, ref: 2244).

Obverse: CAROLVS.D.G.MAG.BR.FR.ET.HI.REX; Crowned bust facing left with VI behind head. Reverse: CHRISTO.AVSPICE.REGNO (I reign under the auspice of Christ); Square shield over cross Moline

Diameter: 25.3mm. Weight: 2.93g. DA=12:9.

The coin has been double struck on both sides.
