Handaxe. Large pointed ovate hand axe, broken transversley at the pinted end in antiquity. Both faces have small area of thin, smooth cortex while one flake has a large 'pot lid' scar (equally patinated and stained brown as the rest of the hand axe). Several incipient frost cracks are visable. The appearance of the hand axe is suggestive that it is derived from a gravel deposit.
