A complete openwork post-medieval strap-fitting (belt mount) with a pair of integral prongs. The mount is formed of a pair of back-to-back C-shaped elements with scrolled terminals and a protruding pellet at each outer edge. Where they meet there are trefoilate extensions at the mount's centre. The C-shaped elements are delineated by finely incised lines. The prongs are located at the centre of each outer edge. They are rectangular with rounded corners in cross-section and travel upward before curving in and downwards towards the centre. One of the prongs has been bent to the side. Such prongs indicate a 17th-century date for this object.
