A complete copper alloy key of Medieval date (AD 1150-1500). The bow is complete with integral double moulding on the outer, upper portion. The neck of the key tapers in below the bow and out into a circular circumferentially running moulded neck. The shank is sub-cylindrical with a rectangular cross section. The bit is in two parts, the upper being the smaller of the two is double warded along the left hand edge of the bit. The lower bit is double warded along the upper portion of the bit, the second of these is double warded to the right of the object. A rectangular void on the reverse of the bit makes each of the lobes hollow.
