Cast copper alloy gilded livery button of modern date 1800-1900. The front shows an eagle with wings spread about to take flight from a branch above a cushion. The tip of the branch has an unusual divided circular device. The reverse face is plain and there is no evidence of a makers mark - a single broken stud is positioned at the mid point - this is all that remains of a loop. Entire face gilt the underlying metal is a corroded mid reddish brown green colour.
The button measures 25.8mm diameter, is 3.2mm thick and weighs 6.6 grams
