Silver cast strap fitting. The fitting is sub-shield shaped with a bar at one end to accommodate a strap. The fitting has a zoomorphic design of two leopards or cats with intertwined tails. Their tails form a loop at the end of the fitting and there is a perforation hole through the centre of the object in between the two animals. Gold gilding traces.

Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
