An incomplete copper-alloy D-shaped buckle frame with offset and narrowed bar of Medieval date, Meols Type 2.
The outer edge is expanded. The pin is still present but is loose and no longer in its original position on the bar. It tapers to a point and has an open loop.
This buckle measures 15.71mm in length, 22.53mm in width, 3.81mm in thickness, 2.97g in weight.
There are similar examples from London c. 1330-1400 (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, pp. 75, no. 304-305).
