Front part of a medieval gilt copper alloy, rectangular, openwork buckle plate, broken just before the fold, with two rivet holes, and part of the pin slot extant. In the centre, depicted in hollow-backed relief, a lion passant reguardant is surrounded by emphasising round apertures. Very close to an example from Cambridgeshire (CAM-8E7962). Extant length 25.5mm. Width 20mm. c.1175 - c.1300.
