An early medieval silver sceat, Primary Phase (c.680-710); series BIa-c copy (probably) with lettering not appropriate for BII (variety without cross in front of bird on reverse); c.695-700.

Obverse: Diadem head right (double row of pellets in diadem) within circlet of pellets ending in horizontal V at 9 o'clock representing a snake.

Inscription: [...]VIINOOAV[...]

Reverse: Bird sitting right on cross with an annulet at the end of each horizontal arm. Bird and cross contained within ring of pelletsending in horizontal V at 7 o'clock representing a snake.

Inscription: initial mark: cross positioned at 1 o'clock in inscription - followed by a series of V with pellet terminals - these are arranged in a pattern of upright V inverted V [ V A V A V ...V A V
